Hello everyone! I hope this beautiful fall quarter is treating you all well. I just wanted to remind you all that we will be having our second quarterly meeting tomorrow (Tuesday October 13th) at 5pm in the courtyard outside Kerckhoff. We will be discussing the AIDS epidemic as well as planning our involvement in AIDS Walk LA (October 18th). I hope to see you all there!
For those of you planning on participating in AIDS Walk LA (which I hope all of you are) please RSVP to this message so I can get a head count and don't forget to register online with our group UNICEF at UCLA. Thank you!
Best,
Katrina |

Hey Everyone!
It's a brand spanking new quarter and UNICEF is ready to go with a gamut of ideas and events.
At tomorrow's meeting, we'll be laying the plans for the quarter: everything from our child trafficking event in February, volunteering at Children of the Night (rehab center for child prostitutes), and UNICEF USA's Tap Project to promote clean drinking water and sanitation in developing countries! Please come to give your ideas, your input, and your smiles! |

Hi everybody! Hope you had a wonderful one day break. Here's an update for those of you who missed the meeting:
Child of the Night We are going to start volunteering for Child of the Night on Fridays so please email us to let us know when you are available on Fridays if you are interested. We will probably start next week. You will have to be free for at least 2 hours in order to volunteer. If you aren't free on Fridays, don't worry! You can still participate because we can pair you up with one of the girls for Secret Snowflake.
Secret Snowflake For Secret Snowflake, which is basically a Secret Santa, we will send small thoughtful gifts like notes, keychains, etc. to the girls on a weekly basis.
LA Mission ( http://losangelesmission.org/index.html ) We are considering helping the homeless kids of this program set up a thank you dinner for their tutors for Thanksgiving. This should be early during the week of Thanksgiving and it should be a fun event. Ok, I think that's it. So please let us know if you are in interested in doing Children of the Night on Fridays, Secret Snowflake, or the LA Mission. Thanks! : ) |
