Unicef at Ucla

UNICEF at UCLA is a sponsored campus group modeled after the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and their advocacy for the world’s disadvantaged women and children due to natural disasters, famine, disease and war. The mission of UNICEF is to promote the survival, protection and development of all children worldwide regardless of race, creed, religion or political ideologies. [UNICEF is non-partisan.] This is accomplished through advocacy, fundraising and education. Volunteers are vital to the success of UNICEF.

The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is one of 37 worldwide committees established to raise the funds needed for UNICEF's work. Our campus group wishes to continue this effort through fundraising and awareness projects.

The five core themes for UNICEF right now are child survival, HIV/AIDS, children caught in war, exploitation and insufficient investment in children. We are going to develop projects to create awareness for these issues.

Our mission statement is:

"To educate UCLA and the local community about global issues affecting children and mobilize the community and student body to take action on these issues in various ways." (Click here to visit UNICEF's website - "Why we do it")
